JOB DESCRIPTION

The Finance Department is organized under the municipal management administration and is led by the municipality's chief financial officer. The department has an overarching responsibility for the development and management of the municipality's processes related to purchasing and operational management. This includes financial management, goal management, and quality management.

Currently, there are 15 employees in the department, including the purchasing unit, tasked with supporting the municipality's offices in their daily work. Within the Finance Department, we strive for a collaborative and learning environment where everyone is welcome.

The main responsibilities include managing the financial governance for the municipality's social services department, which has around 500 employees. The role involves close collaboration with the department head and operations to coordinate and develop common, effective models and routines.

The assignment includes ongoing work with financial statements, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, as well as project and investment follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Work towards good cost awareness and effective financial routines and processes.
• Produce and submit ongoing reports on financial status and relevant decision-making materials to managers.
• Analyze current and historical financial situations and assess future developments.
• Continuously monitor finances and propose improvements as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role involves many internal contacts, which places high demands on good communication skills, both verbal and written. The Finance Department is also driving a change initiative within the municipality's financial management, with the ongoing implementation of a new budgeting model. This requires flexibility and good pedagogical skills.

Requirements

• You have an academic degree in finance.

Desirable

• Experience working as an economist/controller or equivalent.
• Experience in financial management within labor-intensive operations, such as healthcare, social services, or other service sectors.
• Experience in a similar role within municipal operations and familiarity with working in politically governed organizations.

As a person, you are structured and possess strong analytical skills. You are expected to work independently while also having a well-developed collaborative ability.

We also believe that you have the ability to see the big picture without losing focus on details. You are communicative, possess good pedagogical skills, and can constructively convey financial messages to different target groups.
